About Tencel

Tencel® branded lyocell and modal fibers are produced by environmentally responsible and sustainably sourced wood.

Known for their natural comfort, TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are versatile and can be combined with a wide range of textile fibers such as cotton, polyester, acrylic, wool, and silk to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of fabrics. Unique physical properties of TENCEL™ fibers give them their great strength, efficient moisture absorption and gentleness to skin. Tencel® is produced from Eucalyptus trees and the production is FSC-certified, which guarantees sustainable forestry. Trees that are taken down are replaced, and the process itself absorbs CO2 and produces O2. The areas used for production are unsuitable for food production, and thus not conflicting interests. Tencel® is processed in a closed environment and requires far fewer chemicals than traditional viscose production. Close to 100% of the chemicals are reused, and the rest is purified. Tencel® production also consumes less energy and between 10 to 20 times less water compared to cotton.

Where do we use Tencel®?

Tencel® is used, amongst others to replace the sewing thread to sew pieces of cloth together, but we also use it for fabric. Fabric made from Tencel® feels nice and gentle on the skin and is easily combined with other types of materials, which makes it perfect for our clothes.
